Welcome New Member Hunter Hart!

Hunter Hart became a member of First Unitarian Church of St. Louis on June 4, 2023.  He had been attending sporadically since 2008, but as he was ushering with Steve Wilke one Sunday, Steve mentioned that when he (Steve) was asked to be a board member/president, he was told he needed to be a member.  So Hunter decided to become a member on the spot...on the very day of the new member luncheon!

Hunter grew up in Paducah, KY; lived in Atlanta for 25 years; then returned to Paducah before coming to St. Louis, where he worked in the office of Community Acupuncture until COVID struck, upon which he retired.  He is a creative person: While in Atlanta, he learned the upholstery business and became an interior decorator.  He continues to make quilts and wall hangings, as well as to help individuals with their interior decor.  He is fond of cats, has an orange tabby named Zeke, and now works as a cat-sitter part-time.  Other interests include the Art Museum, the YMCA (where he works out regularly), and the MO Botanical Garden (where he volunteers as a guide at the Tower Grove House).

At First Church, Hunter is in a covenant group and is on the Facilities Committee.  He has been an usher, he plans to join the choir, and on Saturday, July 22, he co-chaired (with Jane Hoekelman) the very successful Facilities Work Day to spruce up the church after COVID.

Welcome Hunter!
